What it is and who it is for

The DSC ESCORT5580TC is a voice assisted security control module that lets any touch-tone telephone act as a keypad for a DSC security system, locally or remotely. It announces system status with spoken prompts and guides the user through each operation, and installers can relabel zones and partitions so the unit speaks custom names.

The TC model works with the EMS-100 thermostat to monitor and control premises temperature, and the module also controls home automation items, output control and video camera triggering. The Escort5580 installation manual lists 12 VDC operation with 65 mA standby and 150 mA operating current, telephone terminals TIP, RING, T1 and R1, and control of up to 32 automation items through a PL-513 or PSC04 X-10 controller.
