EhubAmerica's LTE Radio Activation & Programming Service prepares each Icom LTE radio for immediate, out-of-box operation on the Icom CONNECT (LTE-CONNECT) network — a private, Icom-controlled platform that routes push-to-talk traffic over 4G LTE and 3G cellular infrastructure without requiring any customer-owned repeaters or IP network. Because the CONNECT system mandates an Icom-supplied custom SIM card with its own unique ID and password, each radio must be individually provisioned by an authorized CONNECT dealer before it can access the secure cloud server. EhubAmerica's Miami-based engineers handle that entire process: SIM activation, airtime plan enrollment, talkgroup and group-call configuration (supporting Individual, Group, and All calls), function-key programming, and a live test-call verification — so every radio ships to the customer already registered, named, and placed in the correct talk groups.

• Mandatory Icom-Supplied SIM Activation — The Icom CONNECT network does not accept third-party SIM cards. Each custom Icom SIM carries a unique ID and password and connects the radio directly to Icom's secure cloud server via a dedicated MPLS connection — bypassing the public internet for call control. EhubAmerica activates and registers each SIM as part of this service.
• Private, Secure Network Enrollment — CONNECT is a private radio system with a dedicated MPLS connection from the LTE/3G carrier radio-access network directly to Icom's cloud servers, with no use of the public internet for call control. Enrollment places each radio inside your organization's private system, restricting communication only to users programmed into that system.
• Talkgroup & Call-Type Configuration — Each radio is configured to support Individual calls, Group calls, and All calls — the same call model used in conventional two-way radio systems. A single device can hold up to 500 programmed users, and a private CONNECT system can accommodate 2,000+ total users.
• Full-Duplex Simultaneous TalkListen Setup — Icom LTE radios support full-duplex (Simultaneous TalkListen) operation, allowing users to talk and listen at the same time — similar to a telephone conversation. Programming ensures this capability is correctly enabled and assigned per role or channel.
• North America Roaming Coverage Activated — Once activated, a US-based radio has coverage throughout the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Roaming in Canada and Mexico is included at no additional charge under the standard airtime plan.
• Safety Feature Enablement — Icom LTE radios support Priority Calling, Man-down, Lone Worker, and Emergency Signalling functions. Programming ensures these safety features are correctly mapped to function keys and configured per the customer's operational requirements.
• RoIP Gateway Interoperability Readiness — Where a customer's deployment includes a VE-PG4 RoIP gateway, CONNECT radios can be configured to interconnect with SIP phones, analog radios, IDAS™ digital radios, IP radios, and cellular phone users. EhubAmerica's engineers account for gateway interoperability during programming.
• GPS Tracking Enablement — Icom LTE radios include built-in GPS. Programming configures the radio to transmit position data at the intervals specified by the customer, supporting fleet management, personnel tracking, and field-service visibility when used with compatible GPS mapping software.
• License-Free Operation — No FCC License Required — Icom CONNECT LTE radios are license-free to operate in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The service includes no FCC license filing because none is needed; the CONNECT platform and PTCRB/FCC/ISED-approved hardware handle regulatory compliance at the device level.
• Live Test-Call Verification Before Shipment — Every radio processed under this service undergoes a live test call on the CONNECT network before it leaves EhubAmerica's Miami facility, confirming SIM registration, call-group membership, audio quality, and PTT function prior to customer delivery.
