What it is and who it is for

The Icom IC-F52D UL is the intrinsically safe version of the compact IC-F52D IDAS digital portable, for teams on a 136 to 174 MHz VHF system in hazardous locations. It holds 512 channels and runs analog FM or IDAS (NXDN) digital, with NXDN Type-D trunking as an upgrade.

It meets ANSI/TIA-4950-A and ANSI/UL 121201 and uses the BP-292IS battery. A 14-character dot-matrix LCD, a 20-position rotary selector, built-in Bluetooth, active noise canceling and up to 8 minutes of voice recording support daily use. It is rated IP67 and uses AquaQuake to clear water from the speaker.
