What it is and who it is for

The Icom F62DUL is the intrinsically safe version of the compact F62D for teams on a 400 to 470 MHz UHF system. It runs analog conventional and IDAS (NXDN) digital operation on 12.5 kHz and 6.25 kHz channels and holds 512 channels in 128 zones.

With its IS-rated BP-292IS battery, it is certified to ANSI/TIA-4950-A and ANSI/UL 121201 for Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D; Class II, Groups E, F and G; Class III, T3C, and is non-incendive for Class I, Division 2, Groups A through D. It is rated IP67, tested to MIL-STD-810G and includes built-in Bluetooth, a backlit 14 character dot-matrix display and up to 8 minutes of voice recording.

  • Best for: oil and gas, chemical, utility and industrial crews working in classified hazardous locations on UHF.
  • System fit: UHF 400 to 470 MHz; analog conventional and IDAS (NXDN) digital, 12.5 kHz DN and 6.25 kHz DVN.
