What it is and who it is for

The Icom IC-F6400D UHF is an IDAS digital mobile radio for vehicles and base stations on a 380 to 470 MHz UHF system. It runs analog and NXDN digital, holds 1,024 channels in 128 zones (4,000 with an optional license) and transmits at 45, 25 or 4.5 W.

A high resolution color LCD with night mode, an active noise canceller and voice recording to microSD (up to 500 hours on a 32 GB card) support busy fleet work. It includes a built-in GPS receiver (UX-241 antenna required) and DES encryption as standard. The radio is tested to MIL-STD-810 G.

  • Best for: public works, utilities, security patrol and large fleets that need a color display mobile with location and recording on UHF.
  • System fit: UHF 380 to 470 MHz; analog and IDAS (NXDN) conventional and multi-site systems, optional Type-D trunking.
