What it is and who it is for

The Icom IC-FR5300 is a 2U, 19-inch rack mount repeater for 136 to 174 MHz VHF systems. It runs analog and IDAS (NXDN) digital on the same channel, holds 32 channels and delivers 50 W at 50% duty cycle or 25 W at 100% duty cycle.

A front panel alphanumeric display, 5 programmable buttons and an internal speaker support local operation, while firmware upgrades and configuration can be handled over IP. The chassis has internal space for a duplexer or pre-selector, holds up to two RF modules, supports automatic battery backup and weighs about 12.7 lb.
