Overview

What it is and who it is for

The MikroTik hAP ax lite LTE6 (L41G-2axD&FG621-EA) is a compact dual-function router that combines a CAT6 LTE modem with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless networking and four Gigabit Ethernet ports into a single USB-C-powered unit running RouterOS v7 License Level 4. The integrated FG621-EA LTE modem supports carrier aggregation across a broad set of FDD and TDD bands, delivering downlink speeds up to 300 Mbps and uplink up to 50 Mbps — making it well suited for primary broadband in underserved areas or as a reliable cellular failover for wired networks. A dual-core ARM64 IPQ-5010 processor at 800 MHz, 256 MB of RAM, and 128 MB NAND storage provide the compute headroom needed to run RouterOS v7 routing, firewall, and traffic management features at wire speed across all four Gigabit ports. The entire platform is powered through a single USB-C port at 5 V / 2.4 A, simplifying deployment in small offices, remote sites, kiosks, and mobile installations where conventional power infrastructure may be limited.

Key features & benefits

  • CAT6 LTE with Carrier Aggregation — The built-in FG621-EA modem is rated LTE Category 6, supporting downlink carrier aggregation across a wide range of FDD bands (1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28) and TDD bands (38, 40, 41). Aggregating two component carriers simultaneously allows the router to achieve up to 300 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, a significant throughput advantage in congested urban cells and in rural areas where single-band signal levels may be marginal.
  • Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) on 2.4 GHz — The onboard IPQ-5010 wireless interface supports 802.11b/g/n/ax on the 2.4 GHz band, bringing Wi-Fi 6 OFDMA efficiency improvements to legacy-friendly spectrum. A 4.3 dBi integrated antenna supports better coverage across typical indoor environments.
  • Four Gigabit Ethernet Ports — Four 1G Ethernet ports managed by an MT7531BE switch chip allow the router to serve as a full wired LAN switch alongside its wireless and cellular roles, eliminating the need for a separate switch in small deployments.
  • USB-C Powered at 5 V — A single USB-C input accepting 5 V / 2.4 A (12 W maximum) means the router can be powered from standard USB-C adapters or power banks, simplifying installation in locations without dedicated power infrastructure. A 5 V 2.4 A 12 W USB adapter is included.
  • RouterOS v7 License Level 4 — Running MikroTik's RouterOS v7 at License Level 4 gives network administrators access to the full RouterOS feature set for this tier, including advanced routing protocols, firewall rules, VPN, traffic shaping, and the Winbox/WebFig management interfaces.
  • Dual-Core ARM64 CPU with 256 MB RAM — The dual-core IPQ-5010 running at 800 MHz with a 64-bit ARM architecture and 256 MB of RAM provides consistent processing capacity for concurrent routing, NAT, and firewall tasks without becoming a bottleneck when the LTE modem is operating at peak throughput.
  • 3G Fallback Support — In addition to LTE, the modem supports 3G (UMTS) at Release 8 category, offering up to 42.2 Mbps downlink and 11.2 Mbps uplink on bands 1, 3, 5, and 8 — ensuring continued connectivity in areas where LTE coverage is absent.
  • Compact Form Factor — At 124 × 100 × 54 mm the device occupies minimal desk or shelf space, making it straightforward to integrate into tight equipment environments or transport for temporary deployments.
