What it is and who it is for

The PCTEL MUF4800 is an elevated feed point UHF mobile antenna, field tunable within 480 to 512 MHz. It is unity gain, vertically polarized, 50 ohm, with VSWR below 1.5:1, and does not require a ground plane.

Antenna height is approximately 18 in at the lowest frequency. It uses a 0.100 in stainless steel radiator, a stainless steel shock spring and a 5/16 in-24 rod ferrule, and it mates with 1-1/8 in-18 thread mounts, including 3/4 in mounts. The elevated feed point is intended to reduce the vehicle shadow effect.

  • Best for: mirror or trunk lid mounting and non-metallic vehicles where no ground plane is available.
  • Fits: 1-1/8 in-18 thread mounts, including 3/4 in mounts; UHF mobile radios operating from 480 to 512 MHz.
  • Important to know: it is field tuned to your frequency within 480 to 512 MHz; the mount is not listed as included.
