What it is and who it is for

The Planet GSW-2401 is an unmanaged 24-port 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit switch in a 1U rackmount metal chassis. Planet positions it as a cost-effective Gigabit solution for enterprise backbone and server farm connections, with plug-and-play operation and DIP switch modes for VLAN isolation and longer cable runs.

The non-blocking 48 Gbps switch fabric forwards 35.7 Mpps with store-and-forward switching, an 8K MAC address table and 9K jumbo frames. Four DIP switch modes are available: Standard, Flow Control Off, VLAN (access ports isolated, with ports 15 and 16 as uplinks) and Extend, which runs ports 1 to 8 at 10 Mbps over up to 200 m. The fanless switch runs on 100 to 240 V AC, draws 14.6 W and is rated for 0 to 50 °C.
