What it is and who it is for

The Seco-Larm SM-4004-LQ/W is a miniature capsule-type surface-mount magnetic contact for closed loop alarm circuits. It has a 3/4 in (19 mm) operating gap, a rare-earth neodymium magnet and 18 in (46 cm) leads from the center of the switch.

The switch and magnet each measure 1 x 3/8 x 1/4 in (25 x 10 x 6 mm) in a white high-impact ABS case and mount with the included double-sided tape. Contacts use ruthenium on gold underplating and are rated 1.0 A at 10 VDC max and 10 W max, with 50 million switch cycles.

Seco-Larm also offers the SM-4004-TQ/W with gold-plated screw terminals and a 1 in (25 mm) gap.

  • Best for: adhesive-mounted contact points where a small capsule-type contact is wanted.
  • System fit: closed loop (N.C. loop) zone inputs on alarm control panels.
  • Important to know: mounting is adhesive with the included double-sided tape; clean the surfaces before mounting.
