Overview

What it is and who it is for

The Txpro TX-780-S05 is a throat microphone that picks up the voice from vocal cord vibration, paired with a transparent acoustic tube earpiece and a ring PTT. It uses an S05 connector that attaches to the radio with screws, and Txpro lists it for Icom F4001, F4011, F4021, F4031, F4101, F4210, F4230, F14, F3021, F3011, F3101, F3001, F1000 and F2000 radios.

Txpro says it suits users whose mouth is covered by safety equipment, including motorcycle helmets and masks. The acoustic tube is medical-grade PU, an extra ear insert is included and the cable is Kevlar reinforced and double crimped at the connector, PTT and microphone.

  • Best for: Users in helmets or masks, and surveillance work where a clear acoustic tube is needed.
  • Fits: Icom F4001, F4011, F4021, F4031, F4101, F4210, F4230, F14, F3021, F3011, F3101, F3001, F1000 and F2000 portable radios.
  • Important to know: Txpro advises against using VOX with this microphone on a motorcycle or in noisy places. This is a Txpro-brand accessory.
