About Edwards
Commercial fire alarm engineering with a deep installed base.
Edwards (originally Edwards Signaling & Security Systems, now part of the Carrier portfolio) is one of the most widely deployed commercial fire alarm brands in North America, with an installed base across hospitals, schools, hotels, office buildings, and industrial facilities going back decades. The portfolio centers on the EST3 and iO Series addressable fire alarm panels, the Genesis line of notification appliances (horns, strobes, combination horn-strobes), Signature Series detectors (smoke, heat, multi-criteria), manual pull stations, and the wide range of replacement parts and accessories that keep installed systems compliant year over year.
EhubAmerica stocks the most-requested Edwards SKUs in our Doral, FL warehouse: Genesis horns and strobes (Genesis G1, G4, EG1 in standard wall, ceiling, and weatherproof configurations), Signature Series smoke and heat detectors, manual pull stations, EST replacement parts (modules, batteries, expansion cards), and notification accessories. For full EST3 or iO Series panel systems and major upgrades, we coordinate with the appropriate Edwards distribution channel and licensed fire alarm contractor partners since these systems typically require certified installation under local fire code.
The Edwards lineup is the practical choice for fire alarm integrators maintaining existing EST3 and iO Series installs, building managers and facility teams replacing aged notification appliances on schedule (typical 10-15 year service life), property managers needing replacement smoke detectors and pull stations after annual inspection findings, and electricians and integrators working under a licensed fire alarm contractor of record. For new system designs or major panel upgrades, the work requires a licensed fire alarm contractor who can interface with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) for permit and inspection.

Frequently asked
Edwards questions, fire-code answers.
Specific to fire alarm integrators, building managers, property managers, and electricians working under a licensed fire alarm contractor of record. For new system designs and panel installs, see our note about contractor licensing.
Do you stock Edwards in Miami?
Yes. We stock Genesis notification appliances (horns, strobes, combination horn-strobes in indoor and weatherproof configurations), Signature Series smoke and heat detectors, manual pull stations, EST3 and iO Series replacement modules and parts, voice evacuation components, and fire alarm accessories. Most in-stock orders ship same-day when placed before 2 PM ET.
Can I buy a complete EST3 or iO Series panel from you?
Complete panel systems and new system designs typically require a licensed fire alarm contractor purchase under most US jurisdictions, because the panel installation must be permitted and inspected by the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) under NFPA 72. We can quote complete panels for licensed contractors with proof of license, or we can coordinate with our partner contractors if you need the full design / install / commission cycle. For replacement parts, notification devices, and detectors on existing systems, we ship freely without contractor verification.
Which Genesis horn-strobe candela rating do I need?
Candela rating is set by NFPA 72 based on room dimensions and ceiling height: 15, 30, 75, 110, and 177 candela are the standard options. Smaller rooms (around 20 by 20 ft) typically need 15 cd; large open areas and higher ceilings need 110 or 177 cd. Wall-mount versus ceiling-mount also changes the rating. Send us the room dimensions and ceiling height for each location and we recommend the right Genesis SKU mix. For multi-room buildings, we can quote a per-room rated package.
Are Signature Series detectors compatible with my EST3 panel?
Yes for current production Signature Series detectors on EST3 panels running compatible firmware. Older EST3 systems may need firmware updates to support the newest Signature detector models, and very early EST3 panels (pre-EST3X) have known compatibility limits with current production. If your installed panel is older than 10 years, ask us before ordering and we'll cross-reference the panel firmware to the detector compatibility matrix.
Do you cross-reference legacy EST part numbers to current Edwards SKUs?
Yes. Edwards has had multiple part number transitions over the past 20 years as products were updated, relabeled, or consolidated. If you have an older part number from a 1990s or 2000s drawing or BOM, send it to us and we identify the current equivalent SKU. For some legacy parts, we can also source rebuilt or new-old-stock if current production has been retired.
What is the Edwards RMA process at EhubAmerica?
Send the unit with a brief problem description and the original order or invoice reference. We issue replacement within 48 hours of receipt for units under warranty. Edwards standard warranty is typically 1 year on notification appliances and detectors. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from incorrect installation, water ingress beyond rated protection, lightning damage, or end-user tampering.
Let us quote your Edwards order.Same-day response.
Send us the project: notification appliance count and candela mix, detector model and quantity, panel model for compatibility verification, replacement parts list, or contractor license info if quoting a full system.
