IURON AOC and DAC cables comply with the SFP+ MSA standard and are tested compatible with major switch vendors: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, D-Link, Netgear, Supermicro, and most standard MSA hosts. Some vendor-specific switches may flag third-party optics as 'unsupported' even when they function correctly. For Cisco environments specifically, IURON optics typically work but may show 'unsupported transceiver' warnings; this does not affect functionality. Tell us your switch make and model and we confirm specific compatibility before quoting.
What is DROP fiber and when do I need IU-UP-DROP cable?
DROP fiber is the last-mile fiber optic cable that runs from the ISP's distribution point (street splitter or pole) directly to the subscriber's premises (home or building). The IU-UP-DROP-01-D-2KM is a G.652D single-mode fiber with a central optical fiber, parallel strength members, galvanized steel messenger wire for tension support, and LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket. It's sold in 2km rolls and is the typical install for FTTH (Fiber to the Home) deployments. If you're an ISP rolling FTTH service, this is the standard subscriber-drop fiber.
