About Planet

Networking gear with strong industrial and PoE focus.

Planet Technology Corporation (headquartered in Taiwan) is a networking equipment manufacturer with a broad portfolio across commercial and industrial Ethernet, with particular depth in DIN-rail industrial switches for automation and outdoor harsh-environment deployments. The portfolio includes managed and unmanaged Gigabit and 10G switches for office and data closet use, DIN-rail and ruggedized switches for factory floor and outdoor industrial applications, industrial PoE and PoE+ switches for surveillance camera and outdoor wireless deployments, copper-to-fiber media converters in commercial and industrial forms, fiber transceivers (SFP, SFP+, XFP) across common reach and wavelength combinations, and network management platforms for centralized monitoring.

EhubAmerica stocks the most-requested Planet SKUs in our Doral, FL warehouse: GS-series managed Gigabit switches in 8, 16, 24, and 48-port configurations, IGS-series DIN-rail industrial switches for harsh environments, IGS PoE industrial PoE+ switches for outdoor surveillance and wireless deployments, FT and FGSW media converters for copper-to-fiber bridging, SFP transceivers in common multimode and singlemode reaches, and unmanaged plug-and-play switches for simple deployments. We can pre-configure managed switches (VLAN setup, port assignments, PoE schedule) before shipping for multi-site rollouts.

The Planet lineup is the practical choice for industrial integrators deploying DIN-rail switches on factory floors where standard commercial switches will not handle the temperature, vibration, and EMI environment, surveillance camera integrators powering IP cameras across commercial and outdoor sites where industrial PoE rating and outdoor temperature compliance matter, IT teams building cost-effective office networks where Planet GS-series managed switches deliver enterprise feature parity at value pricing, and integrators handling outdoor wireless deployments where ruggedized PoE switching is required.

Product lines we stock

Our active Planet catalog sorts into five practical categories. Commercial managed switches GS-series Gigabit managed switches in 8, 16, 24, 48-port with VLAN, QoS, link aggregation, and port mirroring. Industrial DIN-rail switches IGS-series unmanaged and managed switches for industrial automation, factory floor, and outdoor cabinet deployments. Industrial PoE switches IGS PoE+ switches with extended temperature range for surveillance and outdoor wireless. Media converters FT-series and FGSW-series for copper-to-fiber bridging in commercial and industrial forms. SFP transceivers and accessories common multimode and singlemode SFP modules, power supplies, and mounting accessories.

Why EhubAmerica

Four reasons industrial integrators choose us for Planet.

Real Planet inventory in our Doral, FL warehouse: GS managed switches, IGS DIN-rail industrial, industrial PoE+, media converters, and SFP transceivers.

Configured

Pre-configuration for multi-site rollouts: VLAN, port assignments, PoE schedule, management VPN, syslog. Ship pre-loaded with your standard config.

Supported

Engineering desk for industrial versus commercial switch selection, PoE budget calculation, fiber reach and wavelength selection for media converters, and DIN-rail mounting decisions.

Backed

48-hour RMA replacement window on warrantied units. Planet manufacturer warranty honored through us for in-warranty cases (typically 3-5 years on most product lines).

Frequently asked

Planet questions, networking answers.

Specific to industrial integrators, surveillance camera installers, IT teams, outdoor wireless deployers, and integrators sourcing managed or DIN-rail industrial Ethernet plus PoE and media converters.

Do you stock Planet in Miami?

Yes. We stock GS-series managed Gigabit switches (8, 16, 24, 48-port), IGS-series DIN-rail industrial switches, IGS industrial PoE+ switches, FT and FGSW media converters, and SFP transceivers in common multimode and singlemode reaches. Most in-stock orders ship same-day when placed before 2 PM ET.

When do I need industrial DIN-rail switches versus commercial rack switches?

DIN-rail industrial switches are required when the install environment exceeds commercial switch ratings: temperature extremes (above 50C or below 0C), vibration (factory floor, transit, vehicles), EMI (heavy industrial), or where DIN-rail mounting inside an electrical panel is the required form factor. Commercial rack switches are sufficient for office, IT closet, and indoor controlled environments. For outdoor wireless deployments in shelter cabinets, industrial DIN-rail is often the right call even if temperature seems moderate. Tell us the install environment and we recommend the right form factor.

How do I size PoE budget on Planet PoE switches?

Total the PoE consumption of all connected devices: 802.3af caps at 15.4W per port (VoIP phones, basic APs), 802.3at PoE+ at 30W (most modern APs, PTZ cameras), 802.3bt at 60W or 90W (high-power APs, displays, advanced cameras). Sum the wattage across all PoE ports and confirm the switch PoE budget meets or exceeds it with 20 percent headroom. Planet PoE switches publish budgets in the spec sheet. Send us the device list and we confirm the right switch.

Planet versus Wi-Tek versus TP-Link Omada: when does Planet fit?

Planet is the right choice when industrial Ethernet and DIN-rail mounting matter (Wi-Tek and TP-Link Omada don't have equivalent industrial portfolios), or when extended warranty (3-5 years on Planet versus 2 years on Wi-Tek and TP-Link Omada) matters for the project. Wi-Tek is typically the lowest price on managed PoE switching for office and SMB. TP-Link Omada has wider retail availability. For industrial automation, outdoor wireless in shelter cabinets, and projects valuing long warranty, Planet.

Can you spec media converters for copper-to-fiber installs?

Yes. For copper-to-fiber bridging, we need: copper side speed (10/100 Fast Ethernet, Gigabit, 10G), fiber side connector type (LC most common, SC legacy), fiber type (multimode OM3 / OM4 for shorter runs, singlemode OS2 for longer), and reach budget. Planet makes FT-series media converters for most common combinations. For pairs (one at each end of the fiber run), match the SFP wavelengths or use the bidirectional BX optics. Send us the install scenario and we recommend the pair.

What is the Planet RMA process at EhubAmerica?

Send the unit with a brief problem description and the original order or invoice reference. We issue replacement within 48 hours of receipt for units under warranty. Planet warranty is typically 3-5 years on managed switches and 2-3 years on media converters and unmanaged switches. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from power surges, lightning, water ingress beyond rated protection, or end-user firmware mis-flashing.
