About Simplex

Johnson Controls fire alarm with decades of installed base.

Simplex is one of the longest-established commercial fire alarm brands in North America, with an installed base across hospitals, universities, government buildings, airports, and large commercial properties going back to the mid-20th century. Now part of the Johnson Controls fire and security portfolio (which also includes Tyco and Autocall), Simplex anchors on the 4100ES and 4010ES addressable fire alarm control panels, the TrueAlarm series of intelligent detectors, manual pull stations, notification appliances, and the wide range of replacement parts that keep installed systems compliant year over year.

EhubAmerica stocks the most-requested Simplex SKUs in our Doral, FL warehouse: TrueAlarm photoelectric and heat detectors, manual pull stations, notification appliances (horns, strobes, combination devices), 4100ES and 4010ES panel replacement modules, and the wiring accessories that complete most service calls. For full 4100ES or 4010ES panel systems and new major installations, we coordinate with the appropriate Simplex distribution channel and licensed fire alarm contractor relationships since these systems typically require certified installation and AHJ permitting under NFPA 72.

The Simplex lineup is the practical choice for fire alarm contractors maintaining the large installed base of Simplex 4100, 4100U, 4100ES, and 4010ES systems across commercial buildings, building managers and facility teams replacing aged TrueAlarm detectors and notification appliances on schedule, electricians working under a licensed fire alarm contractor of record, and integrators handling renovations of buildings where Simplex infrastructure was originally specified and needs expansion or replacement parts.

Product lines we stock

Frequently asked

Simplex questions, fire-code answers.

Specific to fire alarm contractors, building managers, electricians, and integrators maintaining existing Simplex 4100ES and 4010ES installations.

Do you stock Simplex in Miami?

Yes. We stock TrueAlarm photoelectric and heat detectors, manual pull stations, notification appliances (horns, strobes, combination devices), and 4100ES / 4010ES panel replacement modules and parts. Most in-stock orders ship same-day when placed before 2 PM ET.

Can I buy a complete Simplex 4100ES or 4010ES panel?

Complete panel systems and new system designs typically require a licensed fire alarm contractor purchase under most US jurisdictions, because the panel installation must be permitted and inspected by the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) under NFPA 72. We can quote complete 4100ES and 4010ES panels for licensed contractors with proof of license, or coordinate with our partner contractors for full design and install. For replacement parts, detectors, pull stations, and notification appliances on existing systems, we ship without contractor verification.

Are current TrueAlarm detectors compatible with my older Simplex 4100 panel?

Generally yes for the 4100ES, but older 4100 and 4100U panels may need firmware updates to support current TrueAlarm production. Send us the panel model and the year of installation and we cross-reference detector compatibility before shipping. For end-of-life 4100 panels where current detectors are not supported, we recommend planning a panel upgrade.

Do you cross-reference legacy Simplex part numbers?

Yes. Simplex has had several generations of part number conventions across the 4100, 4100U, 4100ES, 4010, and 4010ES product lines. If you have older drawings or BOMs, send us the part numbers and we identify the current equivalent SKU. For some discontinued parts, we can source rebuilt or new-old-stock through our network.

Are Simplex and Tyco the same?

Both are now part of Johnson Controls. Tyco was acquired by Johnson Controls in 2016 and the Simplex brand sits within the JCI fire and security portfolio. Some SKUs may carry Tyco branding on older inventory and Johnson Controls branding on newer production. The products and engineering remain consistent across the branding transition.

What is the Simplex RMA process at EhubAmerica?

Send the unit with a brief problem description and the original order or invoice reference. We issue replacement within 48 hours of receipt for units under warranty. Johnson Controls manufacturer warranty terms vary by SKU but are typically 1 year on notification appliances and detectors. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from incorrect installation, water ingress, lightning, or end-user tampering.
