About System Sensor

Detection and notification with universal panel compatibility.

System Sensor (a Honeywell company) is one of the most widely deployed fire detection and notification brands in North America, with the key advantage of universal compatibility across most fire alarm control panels: Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, EST, Simplex, Mircom, and many third-party panels accept System Sensor detection devices and notification appliances. This makes System Sensor the go-to brand for fire alarm contractors who service mixed-brand installed bases and don't want to stock detector inventory specific to each panel manufacturer.

EhubAmerica stocks the most-requested System Sensor SKUs in our Doral, FL warehouse: i3 series 2-wire photoelectric smoke detectors (i3 is the most widely-deployed smoke detector in commercial fire alarm), 2W-B 2-wire heat detectors, DH100ACDC duct smoke detectors for HVAC supply and return air monitoring, BEAM200S and BEAM355S beam smoke detectors for high-ceiling spaces (gymnasiums, warehouses, atriums), and the SpectrAlert Advance line of notification appliances (P2R, P2RH, P4RH for wall horn-strobes, PR for ceiling strobes, speakers for voice evac applications).

The System Sensor lineup is the practical choice for fire alarm contractors servicing mixed installed bases of Notifier, Fire-Lite, EST, Simplex, and other panel brands where keeping panel-specific detector inventory is impractical, building managers replacing aged detection devices on annual inspection schedules where the original detector brand is no longer available, electricians and integrators working on tenant improvements where the existing fire alarm panel needs additional detection and SpectrAlert appliances synchronize with the system, and integrators specifying detection plus notification in a new install where universal compatibility simplifies future panel migrations.

Product lines we stock

Our active System Sensor catalog sorts into four practical categories. Smoke detectors i3 series 2-wire photoelectric (most widely deployed commercial smoke detector), ionization detectors, and dual-tech detectors. Heat detectors 2W-B 2-wire heat detectors and 4W-B 4-wire variants in fixed-temp and rate-of-rise. Duct and beam detectors DH100 series duct smoke detectors for HVAC supply / return air, BEAM200S and BEAM355S beam smoke detectors for high-ceiling spaces. SpectrAlert Advance notification appliances P-series wall horn-strobes (P2R, P2RH, P4RH), PR ceiling strobes, speakers for voice evac, and synchronization modules for code-compliant strobe sync across the building.

Why EhubAmerica

Four reasons fire alarm contractors choose us for System Sensor.

Stocked

Real System Sensor inventory in our Doral, FL warehouse: i3 photoelectric detectors, heat detectors, DH100 duct detectors, BEAM beam detectors, SpectrAlert Advance appliances.

System Sensor devices work with Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, EST, Simplex, Mircom, and most third-party fire alarm panels. We confirm panel-specific compatibility at quote time.

Supported

Engineering desk for detector selection (photoelectric versus ionization versus dual-tech), SpectrAlert candela rating per NFPA 72, beam detector spacing for high-ceiling spaces, and duct detector sizing for HVAC.

Backed

48-hour RMA replacement window on warrantied units. Honeywell manufacturer warranty honored through us for in-warranty cases.

Frequently asked

System Sensor questions, detection answers.

Specific to fire alarm contractors, building managers, electricians, and integrators sourcing universal-compatibility detection and SpectrAlert Advance notification appliances.

Do you stock System Sensor in Miami?

Yes. We stock i3 series 2-wire photoelectric smoke detectors, 2W-B heat detectors, DH100 duct smoke detectors, BEAM200S and BEAM355S beam detectors, and SpectrAlert Advance notification appliances (P-series wall horn-strobes, PR ceiling strobes, speakers, synchronization modules). Most in-stock orders ship same-day when placed before 2 PM ET.

Will System Sensor work with my fire alarm panel?

Most likely yes. System Sensor detection devices and SpectrAlert appliances are designed for universal compatibility with major fire alarm panel brands including Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, EST, Simplex, Mircom, and most others. Tell us your panel make and model and we confirm the specific compatibility (some specialized addressable detection requires panel-specific protocols rather than universal System Sensor, in which case we recommend the right alternative).

Photoelectric versus ionization smoke detectors: which should I install?

Photoelectric detectors respond faster to slow, smoldering fires (typical of upholstered furniture, mattresses, electrical fires). Ionization detectors respond faster to fast, flaming fires (typical of paper, wood, cooking grease). NFPA and most modern fire codes recommend photoelectric for general commercial use and dual-tech (photoelectric plus heat) for premium installations. For commercial deployments, the i3 photoelectric is the typical default.

Which SpectrAlert candela rating do I need?

Candela rating is set by NFPA 72 based on room dimensions and ceiling height. SpectrAlert wall-mount: 15, 30, 75, 110, 135, 185 cd. Wall-mount sizing per NFPA 72 Chapter 18 ranges from 15 cd for small rooms (about 20 by 20 ft) up to 185 cd for very large rooms or higher ceilings. Ceiling-mount has different sizing. Send us the room dimensions and ceiling heights and we recommend the right candela mix and SpectrAlert model.

When do I need a beam smoke detector instead of regular smoke detectors?

Beam smoke detectors (BEAM200S, BEAM355S) are used for high-ceiling spaces where standard point-type smoke detectors are impractical: gymnasiums, warehouses, atria, large open commercial spaces with ceilings above about 25 ft. The beam projects across the space (BEAM200S covers 16-330 ft, BEAM355S covers up to 330 ft) and detects smoke crossing the optical path. Spacing requirements per NFPA 72. Tell us the space dimensions and ceiling height and we recommend the right beam model and spacing.

What is the System Sensor RMA process at EhubAmerica?

Send the unit with a brief problem description and the original order or invoice reference. We issue replacement within 48 hours of receipt for units under warranty. Honeywell standard warranty terms vary by SKU but are typically 1 year on detectors and notification appliances. Warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from incorrect wiring, water ingress, or end-user tampering.
