The MikroTik RB962UIGS-5HACT2HNT-US hAP ac is a dual-band concurrent wireless router designed for demanding home, office, and public-access environments. Built around a 720 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM, it delivers 802.11ac performance on the 5 GHz band while preserving full backward compatibility with 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n and 5 GHz 802.11 a/n clients. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports eliminate wired bandwidth bottlenecks, an SFP cage provides fiber uplink flexibility, and a USB port enables 3G/4G modem connectivity for cellular failover or primary WAN. Passive PoE output on port 5 simplifies powering a downstream device without an additional injector. Triple-chain wireless radios on both bands support wider spatial multiplexing for improved throughput and coverage.

Key features & benefits

  • Dual-Band Concurrent 802.11ac — Operates simultaneously on 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n) and 5 GHz (802.11 ac/a/n), allowing legacy devices and modern high-throughput clients to coexist without contention.
  • Triple-Chain Radios on Both Bands — Three spatial streams on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios extend effective coverage and support higher aggregate throughput compared to single- or dual-chain designs.
  • Five Gigabit Ethernet Ports — All five wired ports run at Gigabit speeds, ensuring that the wired LAN does not become a bottleneck when leveraging the full potential of 802.11ac wireless speeds.
  • SFP Cage for Fiber Uplink — An integrated SFP slot accommodates fiber or copper SFP modules, providing a flexible, future-ready uplink option suitable for fiber-to-the-premises installations or long-distance building interconnects.
  • Passive PoE Output on Port 5 — Port 5 can deliver passive Power over Ethernet to a downstream device, reducing cabling complexity and eliminating the need for a separate power injector at a remote access point or camera.
  • USB Port for 3G/4G Modem — The onboard USB port supports an external cellular modem, enabling mobile broadband as a primary WAN connection or as a resilient failover path when the primary uplink is unavailable.
  • 720 MHz CPU with 128 MB RAM — The 720 MHz processor and 128 MB of RAM provide the headroom needed to run RouterOS features such as firewall, NAT, VPN, and traffic shaping concurrently without degrading forwarding performance.
