The RF Elements HG3-TP-S50 is a Gen2 Symmetrical Horn TwistPort antenna engineered for demanding 5 GHz wireless deployments across the 5180–6400 MHz band. Built around a scalar horn design, it delivers a true symmetrical beam radiation pattern with no sidelobes, yielding 14.3 dBi of gain, a 33 dB front-to-back ratio, and a clean 50° beamwidth at –6 dB in both azimuth and elevation planes. The patent-pending TwistPort waveguide connector provides a virtually lossless, quick-locking RF interface that eliminates the insertion loss and mechanical complexity associated with traditional pigtail connections. Gen2 improvements include enhanced RF performance, a lighter antenna body, a more durable radome material, and a significantly redesigned mounting bracket—making the HG3-TP-S50 a strong fit for high-density access-point clusters, dense radio co-location environments, and operators seeking long-term network scalability.

Key features & benefits

  • Symmetrical Beam Pattern with No Sidelobes — The scalar horn design produces identical 33° (-3 dB) and 50° (-6 dB) beamwidths in both horizontal and vertical planes, eliminating sidelobe interference that plagues conventional sector antennas and improving overall network signal discipline.
  • TwistPort™ Waveguide Connector — The patent-pending TwistPort quick-locking waveguide port is virtually lossless and attaches in seconds without tools, removing the RF loss and weathering vulnerabilities inherent to coaxial pigtail connections.
  • 14.3 dBi Gain Across 5180–6400 MHz — Consistent gain across the full 5180–6400 MHz frequency range ensures reliable performance across multiple 5 GHz channels and regulatory sub-bands without retuning or antenna changes.
  • 33 dB Front-to-Back Ratio — A high front-to-back ratio of 33 dB significantly attenuates signals arriving from behind the antenna, reducing interference pickup and improving the signal-to-noise ratio at the radio.
  • Excellent Noise Rejection and Network Scalability — The inherent noise rejection characteristics of the horn geometry make the HG3-TP-S50 particularly well suited for high-density AP clusters and dense radio co-location scenarios where interference management is critical to throughput and capacity.
  • Gen2 Industrial Design Enhancements — Second-generation refinements include an optically lighter antenna body, a more resistant radome material, and a significantly improved mounting bracket, reducing installation time and long-term maintenance needs in outdoor environments.
