The Txpro TXAB-400-70 is a UHF fiberglass base antenna engineered for fixed-site radio communications across the 400–470 MHz band. Built around a hermetically sealed radiator and coil assembly enclosed within a fiberglass tube, it delivers 6.5 dB of gain with a broad 10 MHz bandwidth and consistently low SWR across the operating range. A DC ground construction passively dissipates static buildup, reducing the risk of equipment damage in exposed outdoor installations. The joint bracket is purpose-designed to leverage the structural integrity of the fiberglass tubing, and mast compatibility spans 1 3/16 in to 2 7/16 in diameter, accommodating a wide variety of mounting configurations. Rated to handle 200 watts of transmit power and withstand wind loads up to 120 mph, this antenna is well suited for demanding operational environments in public safety, transportation, manufacturing, and construction.

Key features & benefits

  • 400–470 MHz UHF Coverage — Operates across a 70 MHz portion of the UHF spectrum with a specified 10 MHz instantaneous bandwidth, providing deployment flexibility for a wide range of licensed UHF channel assignments.
  • 6.5 dB Gain — Fiberglass omnidirectional gain antenna concentrates radiated energy on the horizon, extending communication range compared to a unity-gain reference antenna without requiring a directional beam.
  • 200 W Power Handling — Supports up to 200 watts of continuous transmit power, making it compatible with high-power base station and repeater installations without risking antenna damage.
  • Hermetically Sealed Radiator and Coil — The active radiating element and matching coil are fully sealed within the fiberglass tube, protecting internal components from moisture ingress and environmental contamination over the antenna's service life.
  • DC Ground Construction — Provides a direct-current path to ground, passively dissipating static charge accumulation and helping protect connected radio equipment in exposed rooftop or tower installations.
  • Broadbanded Low-SWR Design — Factory-tuned for low standing wave ratio across the operating band, minimizing reflected power and maintaining efficient energy transfer between the transmitter and antenna.
  • Vertical Polarization — Vertically polarized radiation pattern matches the standard orientation used by the vast majority of mobile and portable UHF land-mobile radios, maximizing link efficiency.
  • SO-239 (UHF Female) Connector — Terminates with an industry-standard UHF female SO-239 connector, compatible with common PL-259 coaxial cable assemblies used throughout professional radio installations.
  • Wind-Rated Mounting System — Rated for wind speeds up to 120 mph and includes a reinforced joint bracket with mast compatibility from 1 3/16 in to 2 7/16 in (30 mm to 62 mm), supporting reliable long-term outdoor deployment.
