The ZKTeco XT-5 is a multi-factor access control terminal engineered for demanding indoor and outdoor deployments. It combines fingerprint biometrics, proximity card reading, and PIN-based password authentication into a single vandal-proof unit rated IP65 for reliable operation in exposed environments. With a fingerprint capacity of 3,000 templates, card capacity of 30,000, and an event log of 100,000 records, it scales from small offices to mid-size commercial facilities. TCP/IP and RS-485 communication interfaces, along with Wiegand 26-bit output, allow straightforward integration into existing access control infrastructure. Relay outputs support electric strikes and magnetic locks, while exit button, door sensor, and alarm output connections enable complete door control wiring from a single device. Native compatibility with ZKACCESS 3.5 software provides centralized management of access rights, schedules, and attendance records without additional licensing cost.

Key features & benefits

  • Triple-factor authentication — Supports fingerprint, proximity card, and password verification individually or in combination, allowing administrators to enforce the level of security appropriate for each access point.
  • IP65-rated vandal-proof housing — The enclosure carries an IP65 ingress protection rating and vandal-resistant construction, making it suitable for outdoor entry points and other environments where the device may be exposed to weather, dust, or physical tampering.
  • Anti-scratch fingerprint sensor — The hardened sensor surface resists surface wear from repeated daily use, helping maintain consistent read accuracy over the product's service life in high-traffic locations.
  • Dual communication interfaces — TCP/IP and RS-485 interfaces provide flexible network integration, supporting both modern Ethernet-based deployments and legacy wired RS-485 access control bus topologies.
  • Wiegand 26-bit output — Industry-standard Wiegand 26-bit output allows the terminal to function as a reader in larger access control systems managed by third-party panels that accept this protocol.
  • Relay output with NC/NO/COM — The onboard relay rated at 12V, 3A supports normally closed, normally open, and common configurations, providing direct control of electric strikes, magnetic locks, or other door hardware.
  • Exit button and door sensor inputs — Dedicated inputs for a request-to-exit button and door sensor allow full door-state monitoring and safe egress control from a single wiring point at the door.
  • Alarm output — An integrated alarm output enables the terminal to trigger external alert devices in response to forced-entry, door-held-open, or other defined security events.
  • High-capacity event log — Stores up to 100,000 access events onboard, ensuring that audit trail data is retained locally even during periods when network connectivity to the management server is interrupted.
  • ZKACCESS 3.5 software compatibility — Native support for ZKTeco's free ZKACCESS 3.5 platform enables centralized management of multiple readers, user enrollment, access schedules, and attendance reporting without additional software cost.
